It’s a kind of waterproof material, the raw material is high-molecular polymer. The main components are 97.5% of HDPE and 2.5% of Carbon black/anti-aging agent/anti-oxygen/UV absorbent / stabilizer and other accessory.

It is manufactured via triple co-extrusion technique by the most advanced automatic equipment which is imported from Italy.

Yingfan geomembranes are all manufactured according to US GRI and ASTM standards.

Its main function is anti-seepage and isolation.

Types of HDPE geomembrane

According to the surface of HDPE geomembrane, it can be divided into HDPE Geomembrane Smooth and HDPE Geomembrane Textured, including both sides textured  and one side textured.

Compared with smooth geomembrane, textured HDPE geomembrane has a bigger friction coefficient.

For example, as we all know, HDPE geomembrane is widely used in landfill project. In order to maximize the storage capacity of the landfill, the slope of the landfill needs to be built as steep as possible.

Generally, the smooth HDPE geomembrane has a smooth surface and low surface shear strength, which will cause instability in the slope in the anti-seepage system. Therefore, the slopes of landfills now mainly use textured HDPE geomembrane, which has a high surface friction coefficient, which enhances the stability of the slope.

The production of Yingfan High Density Polyethylene  Geomembranes as follows:

1)The first step is to mix High Density Polyethylene resin and color mastermatch, the main components are 97.5% of HDPE and 2.5 of carbon black/anti-aging agent/anti-oxygen/UV absorbent / stabilizer and other adjuvant;

2)Then all the raw materials enter the extruder, and form the geomembrane after being extruded and blown by the extruder;

3)Cooling and rolling;

4)Finally packaged in woven geotextile bags.

Which Thickness HDPE Geomembrane Should I Use ?

The thickness range of HDPE geomembrane of Yingfan brand is from 0.20mm to 3.0mm.The larger thickness, the better properties, the longer lifespan. The thickness you need depends on your application scope. For example, according to our experiences, for aquaculture (fish farming pond or shrimp pond), usually use 0.35mm,0.5mm or 0.75mm thickness HDPE geomembrane; for landfill site, usually use 1.0mm,1.5mm or 2.0mm HDPE geomembrane.

How Much Does HDPE Geomembrane price?

There are many factors that affect the price of geomembrane:

1.Thickness:the thickness range of HDPE geomembrane of Yingfan brand is from 0.20mm to 3.0mm.The larger thickness, the longer lifespan,the higher price.

HDPE Geomembrane Installation Specification

The processes of laying are as follows:

(1)Worksite treatment: The laying base should be solid and flat. There should be no roots, rubble, stones, concrete particles, steel bars, glass shards, etc. that may damage the HDPE geomembrane  within a vertical depth of 25 mm.

(2)Pave: The outdoor laying construction of HDPE geomembrane should be above 5 °C, and there is no rain or snow-free weather below 4 winds. When laying the geomembrane, the weld seam should be minimized. Under the premise of ensuring the quality, the raw materials should be saved as much as possible, and the quality can be easily ensured.

(3)Measure: measure the size for cutting;

(4)Cutting: Cutting according to actual size needs; the lap width is 10cm~15cm.

(5)Trial welding: Test welding must be performed before the welding work is carried out. The test welding shall be carried out on the sample of the impervious material provided. The length of the sample shall not be less than 1 m and the width shall not be less than 0.2 m. After the test welding was completed, three 2.5 cm wide test pieces were cut to test the tear strength and the weld shear strength.

(6)Welding: The geomembrane is welded using automatic crawl type double rail welding machine. An extrusion hot-melt welder shall be used where the double rail welding machine can not work. It’s matched with the welding rod of the same material with geomembrane.The welding process are as follows: adjusting the pressure, setting the temperature, setting speed, joints inspection, geomembrane loading into the machine, start the motor.There shall be no oil or dust at the joints, and there shall be no debris, condensation, moisture and other debris in the lap joint surface of the geomembrane. Must be cleaned before welding.

(7)Inspect: Air pressure detection: When using automatic crawl type double rail welding machine, the air cavity is reserved in the middle of the weld, and the air pressure testing equipment should be used to detect the strength and air tightness. After the construction of a weld is completed, both ends of the weld cavity are sealed, and the air chamber of the weld is pressurized to 250 kPa with a gas pressure detecting device for 3-5 minutes, the air pressure should not be lower than 240 kPa.And then at the other end of the weld,when the opening is deflated, the barometer pointer can be quickly returned to the zero side as qualified.

(8)Repair: If geomembrane surface has holes and other defects and leakage, welding, damage, etc. in the welding process, use fresh base metal to repair them in time, make up each side more than the damaged part 10cm ~ 20cm.

(9)Anchor: There are many methods for geomembrane anchoring: grooved anchoring, nail anchoring, expansion bolt anchoring, and embedded parts.

How To Repair Hdpe Pond Liner ?

The main functions of HDPE pond liner are anti-seepage, waterproof, water storage and isolation. If the HDPE geomembrane is damaged, it will greatly affect the overall quality of the anti-seepage project, so the repair of HDPE pond liner is very important.

a.When the damaged part is small:

Generally, the diameter of hole is not more than 6mm. To repair this kind of damage, simply clean the damaged part and its surroundings, and then use the extrusion welding machine to repair, the material of welding rod is the same with the geomembrane.

b. When the damaged part is on the HDPE geomembrane plane:

To repair such damage, you need to clean up the damaged part, measure the area of the damaged part, and then cut the repair material of the same material and the same thickness into a circular or oval shape (the area is about three times of the damaged part) covered on the damaged part to repair, such repair is generally used hot air welding torch, extrusion welding machine or special adhesive for geomembrane.
